Why Your First Post Will Suck And That’s Why You Should Write It
Instead of letting fear stop me from writing online, I made it my starting point.
I remember writing on Facebook consistently, reflecting, synthesizing my thoughts, and turning them into essays.
There were always people telling me to stop, saying I wasn’t a thought leader. I’ve felt the sting of judgment and the mockery. For a long time, I let that fear silence my will to write online. But this year, I decided I wanted to do something for myself outside my corporate life.
Instead of letting fear stop me from writing online, I made it my starting point.
Here’s why:
🔥 Fear tells us where the stakes are high.
I’ve started using fear as my fuel. Whenever I’m terrified of doing something, that’s my signal to lean into it. I’ve accepted that my first 50 or 100 posts will suck.
And that’s okay.
🏁 My first few posts aren’t the finish line, but they’re the starting point.
The moment I decided I wasn’t writing for compliments or applause, but to learn, everything changed. I’m here to be uncomfortable and to treat this as an experiment.
📊 Each piece of content is a data point.
It’s a step toward understanding what resonates with me and my audience. It tells me what works, what doesn’t, and where to go next. I’ve come to realize that these imperfect attempts are my data points to something meaningful. The truth is, my first 100 posts might flop or some might succeed. And that’s the point.
It doesn’t have to be perfect; it only needs to exist.
